Terms of Use
Last updated: October 31, 2026
These terms apply to the STAR Rewards teacher website, the kids' lesson website, and the STARForce Adventures game app (together with Family HQ for parents, "STARForce"), run by Glass Hand Studios ("we", "us"). By using STARForce you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use STARForce for a school, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for that school.
The short version
- STARForce is for classrooms. Teachers set up students; students play with their teacher's guidance.
- Use first names or nicknames for students, keep login codes private, and use STARForce for learning.
- Our lessons and game belong to us; your class information belongs to your school.
- STAR Points are for fun rewards in the game and have no money value.
1. Who can use STARForce
Teacher accounts are for teachers, school staff, and leaders of educational programs, by invitation from us. Students use STARForce only with a login code given to them by their teacher, at school or with their teacher's or parent's permission.
2. Teacher accounts
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens in your account; tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
- When adding students, use a first name or nickname only. Don't enter last names, birthdays, or other personal details.
- Make sure your school allows you to use STARForce with your students, as required by your school's policies.
2b. Family HQ (parent accounts)
- Use the family code only for your own child, and keep it private. Both parents or guardians may use it.
- Messages are for helping your child learn. Please keep them kind and respectful; teachers reply when they can, and may turn messages off for their class.
- Home STAR Points celebrate practice at home and are limited each week. Teachers can see which points came from home.
- Your child's teacher (or school) can unlink a parent account from a student.
3. Student login codes and cards
Each student's code works like a password. Teachers should hand out cards privately and make a new code (on the teacher website) if a card is lost or shared. The old code then stops working.
4. Using STARForce responsibly
Please don't:
- use STARForce for anything other than teaching and learning;
- try to get into accounts, classes, or data that aren't yours, or guess other students' codes;
- interfere with, overload, copy, or take apart the websites, the game, or our servers;
- copy or share our lessons outside your classes, or sell or publish them;
- enter information that is unkind, unsafe, or not appropriate for children.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules, to keep students safe and STARForce working.
5. Who owns what
The lessons, game, characters, artwork, sounds, and software are owned by Glass Hand Studios and the people we license them from. While you use STARForce, we give you permission to use them with your students for classroom teaching.
Information your school adds (classes, student nicknames, points, and progress) belongs to your school. We use it only to provide STARForce, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. STAR Points and rewards
STAR Points are classroom rewards that can be spent on items inside the STARForce Adventures game. They have no cash value, can't be bought, sold, or exchanged for money, and can't be transferred outside STARForce. We may add, change, or retire rewards over time.
7. Changes and availability
We're always improving STARForce, so features and lessons may change. We work to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We'll give teachers reasonable notice before removing a major feature.
8. Disclaimers
STARForce is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those written in these terms, including any implied promises that it fits a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Glass Hand Studios won't be responsible for indirect or unexpected losses arising from the use of STARForce, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for STARForce in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 if you haven't paid anything). Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited by law.
10. Ending use
You can stop using STARForce at any time, and a school can ask us to delete its information as described in the Privacy Policy. We may end or suspend access if these terms are broken or if we stop offering STARForce; if we stop offering it, we'll give schools notice and a chance to ask for their information first.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Kentucky, unless the law where your school is located requires otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell teachers by email before they take effect. Continuing to use STARForce after that means you accept the updated terms.
