Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
This policy explains what information STARForce Adventures collects, why, and how it is protected. It covers the STAR Rewards teacher website, the kids' lesson website, Family HQ for parents, and the STARForce Adventures game app (together, "STARForce"). STARForce is run by Glass Hand Studios ("we", "us").
The short version
- No ads, no selling data, no tracking. We never sell or rent information, show ads, or build profiles of children.
- Kids sign in with a code, not an email or password. Teachers use first names or nicknames only.
- We collect only what the lessons and rewards need: nicknames, points, and lesson progress.
- Parents can join in. With the family code from their child's teacher, a parent can follow their child's missions and message the teacher.
- Schools and teachers are in control. They can see, change, and delete their students' information, and parents can ask us to delete their child's information at any time.

Information we collect
From teachers and school staff
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form by our sign-in provider; we can't see them.
- The names you give your classes, and the student nicknames you enter.
- The STAR Points you give and the short reason you type (for example, "Great teamwork").
- Which lessons you assign to which classes, and when you last signed in.
From parents and guardians (Family HQ)
- Your email address, password (stored scrambled), and the name you choose to show the teacher.
- Which child you're linked to, using the family code from their teacher.
- If you homeschool: your family name and the first names or nicknames of the children you add, which we treat exactly like a teacher's class (you can change or delete them at any time).
- STAR Points you give at home, with the short reason you type.
- Messages and "stumbling block" notes you send to your child's teacher, and their replies. These are visible only to the child's linked parents and their teacher.
About students
Students never create accounts or give us information themselves. Their teacher adds them, and we keep:
- A nickname (we ask teachers to use a first name or nickname only, never a last name) and the class they belong to.
- A login code, an 8-character code printed on their card that works like a password.
- STAR Points earned and spent, with the reason, and the in-game rewards they chose.
- Lesson progress: which slides they have seen, where they stopped, and when they finished a lesson. Badges and certificates are worked out from this progress.
During a live class game, a student's answers go straight to their teacher's classroom screen and are not stored. Only the STAR Points a teacher chooses to give afterwards are saved.
Stored on the device
To save typing, the student's login code is remembered on the device (in the browser or the game app) until someone taps "Not you?" or signs out. The websites also remember small preferences, such as whether lesson sounds are on. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we don't collect
We don't collect students' full names, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, voice, location, contacts, or advertising IDs. The websites and the game app contain no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and no crash-reporting tools.
Basic technical information
Like any website or app, when a page or the game connects to our services, the companies that host them receive standard technical information such as an IP address and browser type. We don't use this to identify students or for advertising.
How we use information
Only to run STARForce for schools: signing teachers and students in, showing lessons, saving progress, keeping track of STAR Points and rewards, awarding badges and certificates, showing teachers their class progress, sending teachers account emails (invitations and password resets), letting parents follow their child's progress and talk with their teacher, emailing a teacher or parent when they have a new message, and keeping the service secure and working.
We never sell or rent information, use it for advertising, or use student information for anything other than providing the educational service.
Children's privacy
STARForce is designed for children under 13 using it at school or under a teacher's supervision. We follow the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). When a school or teacher creates student entries for educational use, the school gives consent on parents' behalf, as COPPA allows; we use the information only for that educational purpose.
Parents can review their child's information, ask us to delete it, or stop further collection by asking their child's teacher or emailing privacy@starforceadventures.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Schools and student records
For schools, we act as a service provider under the school's direction (a "school official" under the U.S. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, FERPA). Student information belongs to the school. We use it only to provide STARForce, don't share it except with the service providers below, and delete it when the school asks.
Who we share information with
We share information only with companies that help us run STARForce, only as needed for that, and they are not allowed to use it for anything else:
| Company | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores the database (classes, nicknames, points, progress), handles teacher sign-in, stores lesson pictures and sounds, and carries live classroom-game messages. |
| Netlify | Hosts the websites. |
| Resend | Sends account emails to teachers and parents (invitations, password resets, and new-message alerts). Students never receive email. |
| jsDelivr and cdnjs | Deliver standard code libraries the websites use. They receive basic technical information when a page loads. |
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of students and others. If Glass Hand Studios is ever sold or merged, this policy will continue to apply to information we already hold.
How long we keep information
- Information stays while the class is using STARForce.
- When a teacher removes a student, that student's nickname, points, rewards, lesson progress, family links, and messages are deleted.
- A teacher can unlink a parent at any time. A parent can ask us to delete their Family HQ account; their messages then no longer show their name.
- When a teacher's account is deleted, their classes are either moved to another teacher at the same school or deleted with all their students' information.
- A school can ask us to delete all of its information at any time by emailing privacy@starforceadventures.com.
- Backup copies are deleted automatically within 30 days.
How we protect information
- All connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Our database is locked down: every request is checked on our servers, and each teacher can see only their own classes.
- Students sign in with private codes, which teachers can replace at any time if a card is lost.
- Only a small number of our staff can manage the service, using their own protected accounts.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security problem ever affected student information, we would tell the affected schools promptly and as the law requires.
Your choices
- Teachers can view, change, and delete their classes and students on the teacher website at any time.
- Parents can see their child's progress in Family HQ, and can ask their child's teacher, or email us, to see or delete their child's information or their own account.
- Anyone can contact us with privacy questions. Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights under state law, such as the right to see or delete your information; we honor these requests for everyone.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use student information, we'll tell teachers by email before it takes effect.
